The clinic day covers the same steps you would get in town. We fit and program aids to your own hearing, adjust them at review appointments, replace domes, tubes and wax filters as they wear, service the aids, and arrange repairs under warranty. The device that suits you comes from your assessment and a conversation about your week. The fitting and settling in
At the fitting we program the aids, check the fit so nothing whistles, and fine tune to real speech, then run through cleaning, charging and pairing. Over the first few weeks everyday sounds settle as your ears adjust, and a short note of the tricky moments helps us at your review.
Servicing and quick fixes
Between clinic days we work out the quickest way to handle a blocked filter or a program that needs changing, so a small problem does not become a long wait. Keeping the aids wiped down and dry, and stored with the battery door open or in the charger, prevents a lot of trouble.
Ways to pay
We explain the pathways before anything is ordered. Eligible pensioner concession card and DVA card holders may access services under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program; eligibility criteria apply. The Hearing Services Program page covers that route. Otherwise aids are purchased privately, and some private health funds pay a benefit worth asking about.
